Making A Difference

Each time we hear a heartbreaking skin cancer story, it drives us to do more. This year, in partnership with Love Anchors Us, we are bringing sunscreen dispensers into our communities. A percentage from each sale, site-wide will go directly to purchasing these dispensers, the more funds raised, the more dispensers & sunscreen purchased. The more communities protected.

A Few Facts from the Skin Cancer Foundation:

  • One person dies of melanoma every hour (every 52 minutes)
  • Melanoma is one of only three cancers with an increasing mortality rate for men, along with liver cancer and esophageal cancer.
  • On average, a person’s risk for melanoma doubles if he or she has had more than five sunburns.
  • Regular daily use of an SPF 15 or higher sunscreen reduces the risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma by about 40 percent and the risk of developing melanoma by 50 percent.
The first dispenser will be dedicated for Terrill Gates of Enfield, Connecticut, who lost his battle with Melanoma in 2014. Terrill's wife Lori and three children live in Enfield and will choose the official site. Read about Terrill's diagnosis here.
